Special Education Paraprofessional – DeafBlind Intervener | ISD 728 Elementary

$22.08+ per hour | 10-month schedule | Starts 2026-2027 school year

Make a real difference in one student's world, every single day.

ISD 728 is looking for a patient, compassionate paraprofessional to work one-on-one with a deafblind elementary student. As an intervener, you'll be this student's bridge to the world around them, supporting communication, mobility, and access to everything the school day offers.

What you'll do:

  • Support one student individually with communication, sensory access, and mobility
  • Help deliver instruction based on the student's IEP, guided by special education teachers
  • Use sign language and visual supports to connect the student to lessons and activities
  • Assist with daily living needs like feeding and personal care
  • Track progress and celebrate wins as part of a collaborative team

What you need:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minnesota paraprofessional requirements (Associate's degree, 60 college credits, or passing ParaPro score)
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

We'll train you. No intervener experience? We offer a paid six-weekend DeafBlind Intervener training program. Sign language skills or experience with special needs students are a plus, not a requirement.

This is meaningful work with a supportive team of teachers, therapists, and staff who collaborate closely. If you're looking for a role where your care and consistency truly matter, we'd love to meet you.

Apply today and start the school year with purpose.
