As a crucial member of our facilities team, you will work independently and alongside our Lead Custodians to keep our school running smoothly. Your main responsibilities will include:- Creating a Great Environment: Keep classrooms, hallways, and common areas looking their best through standard cleaning care (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting).
- Ensuring Safety: Conduct routine safety checks on playground areas and building grounds, taking quick action to remove hazards.
- Event Support & Setup: Help bring school events to life by setting up and tearing down furniture and equipment for games, concerts, and community programs.
- Building Security: Lock and unlock facilities according to daily schedules to ensure our students and staff are safe and secure.
- Systems & Resource Conservation: Keep an eye out for minor maintenance needs, monitor utility efficiency (water, electricity, heating), and help operate building systems (like HVAC or irrigation) as needed.
- Leadership Opportunities: Depending on the season, you may help direct and guide part-time, temporary, or student workers assigned to your shift.

- Licensing: A valid driver’s license (and a willingness to obtain any district-required certifications for specialized equipment down the road).
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, climb ladders up to 12 feet, and work comfortably both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Communication Skills: Ability to read and write basic instructions for equipment/supplies, and comfortably communicate repair needs to your supervisor.

- Growth: This is an entry-level position with excellent opportunities to learn specialized facility systems (HVAC, boilers, etc.) and grow within the district.
A Note on Qualifications: Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every single qualification. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may come from a less traditional background.
